Bobcats Promote Eidenshink to Associate Head Coach

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse has promoted Casey Eidenshink to Associate Head Coach, as announced by the Bobcats on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023.
Eidenshink – who joined the Quinnipiac coaching staff under Head Coach Mason Poli in August of 2019 – will enter his fifth season with the program in the spring of 2024.
“We are very excited to announce the promotion of Casey Eidenshink to Associate Head Coach,” Poli said. “Casey has been an integral part of this program since his arrival to Hamden. His loyalty and dedication to the players and staff have made a tremendous impact in all areas of our program. Casey’s dedication and commitment to Quinnipiac made this an easy decision.”
In the four years since he has arrived at Quinnipiac, the Bobcats have posted 13 total wins under the help of Eidenshink.
Quinnipiac finished the spring 2021 season ranked No. 12 nationally in scoring defense – allowing just 10.0 goals per game. QU went 4-3 (4-2 MAAC) under the help of Eidenshink during that season, earning the title of MAAC Co-Regular Season Champions.
QU went 7-6 overall most recently in the spring of 2023. QU finished the regular season as the league’s top scoring offense (12.62 goals per game), and also ranked No. 1 in the MAAC in assists per game (7.69 APG).
Prior to joining the Bobcats, Eidenshink served as an assistant coach at Lehigh University – his alma mater – for two full seasons (2018-19). A close defenseman and long-stick midfielder as a player, the 2016 graduate of Lehigh was an All-Patriot League and Academic All-League honoree, finishing his collegiate career with a GPA over 3.30.
In his first year as an assistant at Lehigh in 2018, Eidenshink helped the program jump back into the national spotlight. The Mountain Hawks were ranked as high as No. 12 nationally, defeating No. 12 Army West Point and No. 18/19 Hofstra in the span of 10 days. Lehigh finished the season with a 10-7 record, going 5-3 in Patriot League action. The program fell to Loyola in the conference tournament championship game.
Eidenshink then helped guide the Mountain Hawks to another winning season in 2019, as Lehigh went 9-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play once again. The program advanced to the title contest of the postseason conference tournament once again, falling vs. Army West Point in the championship by the final score of 11-7.
As a player, Eidenshink appeared in 55 games (30 starts) during his Lehigh career. He recorded 115 groundballs and 49 caused turnovers – which ranks tied for eighth in school history. He had a career-high 50 groundballs and 23 caused turnovers as a junior, along with 32 groundballs and nine caused turnovers as a senior.
As a senior, Eidenshink was named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award, played in the USILA North-South All-Star Game and was a USILA Scholar-All-American. He was selected by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2016 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.
