Week seven in the PLL brings us to historic Homewood Field in Baltimore. A favorite spot for players and fans, this weekend looks to be another sellout. Some great matchups this weekend as teams are starting to jockey for playoff position. A huge weekend for the PLL with two ABC games. The Atlas and the Archers look to be an exciting up and down game. The Chrome and Whipsnakes will be a slugfest as both teams are strong and physical. The Chaos and Redwoods will come down to defense. The final game of the weekend has the potential to be the best as the Cannons look to extend their hot streak against the Waterdogs.
Atlas(+1.5) vs. Archers(-1.5) Saturday August 5th 3pm – ABC – ESPN+
Two teams that are both coming off wins, but at different ends of the spectrum. The Archers offense is humming along and looks to keep it going. Mike Sisselberger has had an outstanding rookie season and will face his toughest opponent in Trevor Baptiste. This game will come down to possessions and the Atlas’ ability to defend the Archers. The Atlas are very much in the playoff hunt, but will have to play better to take down the Archers. Whoever wins the 32 second shot clock battle off the draw has a great chance to take this one.
Whipsnakes(-1.5) vs. Chrome(+1.5) Saturday August 5th 5:30pm ESPN+
The Whipsnakes will win the possession battle as the Chrome will be sitting Connor Farrell again this week. While Chrome played better in last weeks loss, they still have a long way to go. This is the first week where Chrome will play a consistent Attack line which will hopefully give them stability on the offensive side of the ball. Cross Ferrara has been a nice surprise this season, and a consistent spot at attack will hopefully lead to more production. The Whips will be in playoff mode as every game from here on out is a must win.
Chaos(-1.5) vs. Redwoods(+1.5) Sunday, August 6th 1:00pm ABC ESPN+
The one advantage the Redwoods have in this one is the faceoff X as TD Ierlan is having a great season. The Redwoods need to get their midfield going to have a chance in this one. The Chaos shooting has been a problem for the opposition all season long so Jack Kelly will have his hands full. If the Chaos close defense can handle the Redwoods attack, they have a good chance to pull away in this one. Easier said than done!
Waterdogs(-1.5) vs. Cannons(+1.5) August 6th 3:30pm ESPN+
The game of the weekend with two of the more exciting teams in the PLL. The Cannons are on a hot streak winning four in a row. The Waterdogs have been a model of consistency all season. On paper these teams look very similar. This one will come down to both teams being able to win the 6v6 battle. Can the Waterdogs defense stop the Cannons Attack? Asher Nolting can draw a slide and Marcus Holman can sling it from anywhere. If the Waterdogs two slide is late this one can get ugly.
