Nine Buckeyes Report for 2023 PLL Training Camp
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nine Ohio State lacrosse alumni will report for PLL Training Camp starting this weekend to compete for a spot on the 25-man rosters for the upcoming season.
Training camp begins Friday, May 26 at the University of Albany. The camp rosters have 30 players, but those will be cut to 25 when team rosters are finalized on May 30. During the season, teams submit 19-man gameday rosters that can vary from week to week.
The two Buckeye rookies at this year’s training camp are 2023 Ohio State graduates Jack Myers and Kyle Borda. Myers was selected with the 20th overall pick by the Chrome Lacrosse Club earlier this month. Borda was picked up on waivers by the Waterdogs Lacrosse Club.
Chrome LC boasts the most Buckeyes on its training camp roster with Myers, 2021 graduate Ryan Terefenko and 2014 graduate Jesse King. Notably, King returns to the PLL for the first time since 2020. The skilled left-handed midfielder who can create havok inside is coming off a successful NLL season during which he was fourth in the league in scoring during the regular season.
Both the Archers and Waterdogs’ training camp rosters feature two Buckeyes, with Tre Leclaire (‘21) and Justin Inacio (‘22) contending for roster spots for the Archers and 2022 PLL champion Ben Randall teaming up with Borda on the Waterdogs.
Jackson Reid, the 26th pick of the 2022 draft, looks to make the Whipsnakes roster for the second season while Jack Jasinski (’19) was picked up from the player pool by the Chaos.
The 2023 PLL season starts June 3 in Albany, N.Y. The tour also comes to Columbus for the first time, playing at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium during Week 3 set for June 16 and 17.
