HANOVER, N.H. — After playing just 11 games over three years due to a combination of the pandemic and injury, Dartmouth men’s lacrosse fifth year Peter Rizzotti came back strong in 2023 and was recognized on Friday as a member of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England Second Team. A close defenseman and long-stick midfielder, Rizzotti led the Big Green in caused turnovers (23) while adding 27 groundballs and scoring two goals in 2023.
Rizzotti leaves Dartmouth as the leader in caused turnovers in a career (64) and season (27 in 2019). He also collected 95 groundballs, all this in 36 games (28 starts). Rizzotti played some of his best lacrosse late in 2023, posting multiple caused turnovers in each of his final seven games of the season (recording 17 in that span). In his final game, he tied a career-high four caused turnovers against Brown while scoring a goal for the second straight week. Over his final three games, Rizzotti recorded 12 groundballs and nine caused turnovers in an impressive display.
Also a team captain, Rizzotti left a legacy of leadership, helping the Big Green continue to push the bar forward. Among the highlights was Dartmouth’s most wins (and .500 or better record) since 2008 and an Ivy League opening win over Harvard.

Only fitting that Peter Rizzotti would tie a career-high four caused turnovers in his final game in a Big Green uniform, three coming in the game’s final 10:23.#TheWoods | #GoBigGreen pic.twitter.com/ZeAPYjsujJ
