First-year Zoe Heffernan scored three goals, while classmate Serafina Kiselgof scored two goals. Sophomore Lily DePalma had two assists and graduate student goalie Michelle Messenger made 15 saves.

  • Kiselgof scored off an assist from DePalma 36 seconds into the game to give the Tigers the lead.
  • William Smith scored four straight goals to lead 4-1 after the first quarter, and the first six goals of the second quarter to extend its lead to 10-1.
  • First-year Morgan Nichter scored her second goal of the season with 5:47 to play in the first half to cut the deficit to 10-2.
  • Hlywa scored the first of a three-goal run for RIT to begin the third quarter. Senior Baylee West and Heffernan scored to cut the Heron’s lead to 12-5.
  • William Smith scored two straight goals to take a 14-5 lead late in the third quarter.
  • Senior Kayleigh Ground scored off an assist from Hlywa with 2:12 to play in the third to make the score 14-6.
  • Heffernan scored two of the Tigers’ three fourth-quarter goals, including her third of the game with 54 seconds to play to make the score 18-9.
  • William Smith scored with 19 seconds remaining to make it a 19-9 final.


  • William Smith outshot RIT, 41-17.
  • RIT won 17-of-31 draw controls and went 13-of-18 on clearing attempts.
  • The Tigers scooped up eight ground balls.

RIT returns to action on Wednesday (April 12) at Geneseo at 4:00 p.m.
