Junior Kaden Brunson scored two goals, while senior Luke Pilcher and junior Seth Grottenthaler each had a goal and two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dan Myers gave RPI a 1-0 lead on his goal early in the first quarter.
- Bell gave RIT a 2-1 lead on back-to-back goals.
- Angelo Venuto tied the game at 2-2 on his goal with 1:59 to play in the first, and Cooper Manzi gave RPI a 3-2 lead on his goal early in the second quarter.
- Hendricks scored two goals in a four-goal RIT run in the second quarter. He scored off an assist from sophomore Sam Bennett with 11:15 to play, and again with 7:18 remaining to give RIT a 5-3 lead.
- Pilcher scored with 3:58 to play in the half to give the Tigers a 6-3 lead at the break.
- Junior Michael Grace scored 10 seconds into the third quarter to increase the RIT lead to 7-3.
- Manzi tallied his second of the game with 4:54 to play in the third to cut the RIT lead to 7-4.
- Brunson, Hendricks and sophomore Ethan Harkins each scored in a three-goal spurt for RIT to give the Tigers a 10-4 lead late in the third.
- Brunson tallied a man-up goal off an assist from Grottenthaler with 10:22 to play in the fourth quarter to give RIT an 11-4 lead.
- Zach Swanson scored for RPI to cut the lead to 11-5, but juniors Michael Finneran and Ian Dinga tallied back-to-back goals to increase the RIT lead to 13-5.
- RPI scored two straight goals to cut the lead to 13-7, but Bell scored with 1:28 remaining to make it a 14-7 final.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot RPI, 57-36.
- RIT had 39 ground balls and went 23-of-28 on clearing attempts.
- RIT senior goalie Will Sterrett made 10 saves to earn the win.
- Graduate student Taylor Jensen caused four turnovers and had four ground balls.
