First-year attack Zoe Heffernan tallied four goals, while classmate Adele Jones had two goals and two assists and first-year midfielder Serafina Kiselgof scored two goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marywood built a 4-0 lead with 9:43 to play in the first quarter, including two goals from Alaina Brenneman .
- Heffernan scored to make it 4-1, and senior attack Baylee West scored off an assist from Jones midway through the quarter to make it 4-2.
- Marywood scored to take a 5-3 lead, and Ground scored a free-position goal with 1:05 to play to make it 5-3.
- RIT scored the first four goals of the second quarter, taking a 6-5 lead on Jones’ free-position goal midway through the period.
- Ground tallied her third goal of the first half with 6:56 to play to give the Tigers a 7-5 lead.
- Marywood scored twice late in the second quarter to tie the score at 7-7 at halftime.
- Tied 9-9 with 4:36 to play in the third, Ground kicked off a three-goal RIT run to push the Tigers to a 12-9.
- Heffernan scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to increase the Tigers lead to 14-9.
- Junior midfielder Carrissa Hlywa scored with 4:37 remaining to give RIT a 15-10 lead.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot Marywood, 46-26.
- RIT graduate student goalie Michelle Messenger made eight saves.
- RIT was 17-of-21 on clearing attempts and had 26 ground balls.
