First-year attack Zoe Heffernan tallied three goals and two assists, while senior attack Baylee West tallied two goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • West, Hlywa and first-year attack Adele Jones each scored in the opening quarter for the Tigers.
  • Brockport’s Julia Quinlan scored late in the period to give the Golden Eagles a 4-3 lead.
  • Cassidy Burnash scored twice in the second quarter as Brockport led 6-4 at halftime.
  • RIT scored the first six goals of the third quarter, taking a 10-6 lead on Heffernan’s goal. Heffernan and Hlywa each scored twice in the third, while sophomore midfielder Lily DePalma and senior attack Kayleigh scored.
  • Brockport ran off four straight goals, tying the game at 10-10 in Alayna Foos’ goal with 2:18 to play in the third.
  • Courtney Cunningham scored two straight goals to begin the fourth quarter to give Brockport a 12-11 lead.
  • West tied the score at 12-12 on her second goal of the game with 10:10 remaining in regulation.
  • Foos and Cassidy Burnash scored two straight for Brockport to give the Golden Eagles a 14-12 lead.
  • Hlywa scored a late goal to make it a 14-13 final.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT outshot Brockport 34-17.
  • Graduate student goalie Michelle Messenger made 11 saves.
  • RIT was 10-of-14 on clearing attempts and had 15 ground balls.
  • Jones and Heffernan each scored their first collegiate goals, while classmate Rachel Kulp recorded her first collegiate assist.
