Titans Return to Tucci for Matchup with MSOE

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Fresh off its first win of the season, the Illinois Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team returns to Tucci Stadium Thursday, March 2, for the first of two straight home games. The Titans welcome Milwaukee School of Engineering to Bloomington for a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup.

The Green and White enter the Thursday night tilt on the heels of a 19-10 triumph at Benedictine University, Feb. 28. Senior Carson Kiichle (Vancouver, Wash.-Skyview) erupted for nine points on six goals and three assists to pace the Titan attack. The win boosted IWU to 1-2 on the season. MSOE on the other hand, is 0-1 on the year with an overtime loss to DePauw University, Feb. 28.

Thursday will mark the third all-time meeting between IWU and MSOE, who first met during the Titans’ inaugural season in 2014. Illinois Wesleyan won the first meeting, 13-3, Feb. 22, 2014 before rolling past MSOE, 24-7, in the 2021 campaign. 

Leading the IWU attack through the first three games of the season are Carson Kiichle, junior Ike Eastburn (Colorado Springs, Colo.-Cheyenne Mountain), and senior Connor Kiichle (Vancouver, Wash.-Skyview). Carson Kiichle leads the team with 17 points, topping the squad with 10 assists and ranking second with seven goals. Eastburn has recorded a team-high 10 goals to go along with one assist, while Connor Kiichle has seen a balanced start with four goals and four helpers.

Carson Kiichle is also the team leader in ground balls with 20. Junior Michael Campagna (Arlington Heights, Ill.-St. Viator) sits second with 11 on the year.

Senior Blake Muschewske (Excelsior, Minn.-Holy Family Catholic) has been credited with a team-high six caused turnovers. Sophomore Colin Tervo (West Linn, Ore.-West Linn), who has made 33 saves and holds a goals against average of 13.20, is second on the team with four CTs.
