HISTORIC NIGHT FOR TWO FIREWOLVES DESPITE LOSS: BY THE NUMBERS
The Albany FireWolves (2-4) were defeated by the Philadelphia Wings (2-3), 13-5, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday evening. Two FireWolves players surpassed career milestones despite the loss.

John LaFontaine (2 goals), Connor Kelly (2 goals), Tanner Thomson (2 assists), and Kieran McArdle (2 assists) all tied for the team lead in points with 2 each. On the season, McArdle leads the FireWolves with 25 total points with his 10 goals and 15 assists – both good for second on the club. Kelly now leads the team with 11 goals and Thomson leads the Wolves with 16 assists. Jackson Nishimura, Colton Watkinson, and Ethan Walker each had 1 point in the contest.
Doug Jamieson had a solid night in net despite the loss. The netminder allowed just 12 goals while recording 36 saves. In the game, Jamieson recorded his 2000th career save. Justin Geddie played the game’s final seven minutes and stopped 3 Wings shots and allowed 1 goal. Philadelphia attempted 52 shots on goal, 8 more than Albany.
On defense, Watkinson and Aaron Forster led the team with 7 loose ball recoveries. Each player also blocked 1 shot in the contest. Nishimura scooped up 6 loose balls while Kelly and Patrick Kaschalk each collected 5. Both Nishimura and Kaschalk’s 32 loose ball recoveries rank second on the team behind Nick Chaykowksky’s 34. Greg Downing, who was playing in his 200th career game, recovered 3 loose balls, surpassing 1,000 in his career. Kaschalk and Ty Logan each recorded 1 blocked shot in the loss. McArdle and Brett Manney caused 1 turnover each on the night.
The FireWolves will be on the road again next weekend for a rematch against the New York Riptide before returning home on Saturday, February 18 to take on the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.
