Germain, George Tabbed to Preseason All-MAAC Team

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse was tabbed No. 6 in the 2023 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league office on Feb. 1, 2023.
Steven Germain (midfield) and Demitri George (FO Specialist) were both selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
Demitri George finished the 2022 season winning 187-of-357 (52.4%) chances in the face-off x. He won 55.1% of face-offs in MAAC play, recording 10+ FO wins in 12 of 13 MAAC games. The senior also scooped up 107 total ground balls, ranking first in the MAAC and No. 10 nationally in ground balls per game (8.23). George has won each of the last two MAAC FO Specialist of the Year awards.
Steven Germain recorded 20 goals and six assists to earn All-MAAC First Team status in the midfield last y ear. The sophomore scored four goals on 2/19 vs. Brown, then scored four goals again on 3/8 vs. Fairfield. He tallied a point in all but two games this year.

QU’s 2023 slate begins on Saturday, Feb. 11, as the Bobcats play host to UMass Lowell at 12:00 PM in Hamden.
Quinnipiac will host eight home matches in total: two in February, four in March, and two in April. The Bobcats home dates are:

  • Feb. 11 vs. UMass Lowell
  • Feb. 25 vs. Bryant
  • March 4 vs. Merrimack
  • March 11 vs. Canisius
  • March 25 vs. Marist
  • March 29 vs. Manhattan
  • April 8 vs. Siena
  • April 22 vs. LIU
