HANOVER, N.H. — With the season opener just 18 days away, the Ivy League announced the preseason men’s lacrosse poll on Tuesday, with the Big Green coming in seventh. National Finalist Cornell topped the poll with 94 points and 11 first-place votes, followed by National Semifinalist Princeton with 78 points and two first-place votes. Last season, Dartmouth fell to the Big Red, 8-7, and Tigers, 12-10, in a pair of competitive games that went down to the wire.

Yale came in third in the poll with 65 points, followed by Penn with 64 points, Harvard with 43 points (and one first-place vote), Brown with 30 points and Dartmouth with 15 points. Last season, the Ivy League sent six teams to the NCAA Tournament.

The Big Green are on the rise and enter the 2023 season with high hopes. Last season, Dartmouth began 4-1, which included an 8-7 win over eventual America East Champion Vermont, along with wins against Bryant, Siena and St. John’s. First team All-Ivy League honoree Mitchell Myers leads a strong group of returners for the Big Green. Last season, Myers led the league in faceoff win percentage (55.5) and was fifth in groundballs (75).

Also of note, Ivy League Media Day for men’s lacrosse is set for Thursday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. and will be streamed live on YouTube. Head coach Brendan Callahan, along with Myers, will go from 11:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. For full information, please click here.
