Women’s Lacrosse Voted No. 1 In Ivy League Preseason Media Poll
As the 2023 women’s lacrosse season draws near, the Princeton Tigers are starting to reel in numerous preseason rankings.
The Ivy League released its Preseason Media Poll, with the defending Ivy League champions securing 14 of 16 first place votes to finish No. 1. Yale was the No. 2 choice, garnering the other two first-place votes.

Nationally, the Tigers were voted No. 15 in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll and No. 17 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Poll.
Princeton was the only Ivy team included in the Nike/USA Lacrosse rankings, and was joined by Yale (No. 21) in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll.
The Orange and Black will have plenty of chance to test themselves against top-quality opponents this season with eight of their 15 games against opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll — No. 2 Maryland, No. 8 Rutgers, No. 10 Loyola (MD), No. 13 Virginia, No. 18 USC, No. 21 Yale, RV Penn State, RV Temple.
The Tigers will open on February 18 against the 13th-ranked Virginia Cavaliers at Class of 1952 Stadium — the first of six consecutive games against ranked or receiving votes opponents to start the 2023 season.
